Chubb Streamlines Producer Appointment Process
WARREN, NJ, March 5, 2008 – The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies has become one of the first companies to adopt a new electronic ACORD form and data
standards to streamline the producer appointment process.
“Chubb’s use of the Standardized Producer Appointment Form will translate into significant efficiency gains for producers,
who previously had to fill out lengthy paper applications,” said Robert Hamburger, agency services manager for Chubb and co-chair
of the ACORD P&C Producer Licensing Working Group.
Deborah Gregory, Lockton Companies’ director of producer licensing and co-chair of the ACORD working group, explained that
“the new ACORD form has enabled Lockton producers to save time during the appointment process, and we hope that other insurers
will also adopt this form.”
Instead of filling out time-consuming paper questionnaires, agents and brokers can enter all their information online at @Chubb,
a secure Internet platform, in less than five minutes. Chubb’s eSignature technology will ensure that agents and brokers no
longer have to notarize their appointment applications. The form can be saved and sent to other insurers that have adopted
its use.
Insurance standards organization ACORD released the form, also known as Form #817, in August 2007. It was developed through
collaboration with U.S. insurers, agents and brokers.
The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property
and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,500 independent agents and brokers. Chubb's
global network includes branches and affiliates throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, Asian and Australia.
